Dorte Pedersen on Success in Outsourcing at EUCROF25

PCMG is delighted to reflect on a successful representation at EUCROF25, where Dorte Pedersen, PCMG committee member and industry expert with over 37 years in the pharmaceutical sector, delivered a compelling presentation in the session titled “Successful Outsourcing Underpins Successful Clinical Trials.”
EUCROF25, the 2025 Annual Conference of the European Clinical Research Federation, took place in Copenhagen from 2–4 February, bringing together key stakeholders in clinical research, including pharma, biotech, CROs, regulators, service providers, and patient groups. The conference served as a vital platform to explore the opportunities and challenges facing clinical research in Europe.
During her session, Dorte emphasized the critical role of outsourcing in clinical trials, a market valued at $46.2 billion in 2023 and projected to grow at 6.9% annually to reach $83.5 billion by 2033. Despite its significance, only around 50% of clinical trials are delivered on time and within budget. Drawing on her extensive experience in vendor selection, governance, performance management, and strategy development, she shared her top three tips for achieving success in outsourced clinical trials, which sparked an engaging panel discussion with industry experts.
Dorte also took part in a panel discussion titled “Showcasing Success in Clinical Trials” alongside industry leaders Amelia Martín Uranga from Farmaindustria and Marianne Pilgaard from Trial Nation. The panel provided valuable insights into successful clinical trial strategies and best practices, reinforcing the importance of collaboration across the industry.
As a unique, member-led organization, PCMG has been at the forefront of identifying and advocating for best practices in clinical trial outsourcing since 1994. Dorte, who has been a PCMG member since 2015 and actively contributes to the organization’s training function, highlighted how PCMG supports Sponsor companies in navigating the changing outsourcing landscape. Collaboration between Service Providers and CROs remains central to PCMG’s mission, with an emphasis on building trusting partnerships to address industry challenges effectively.
